Block 01Students were failing mysteriously in a few subjects despite attempting them more than five times. Even scholar students, and those with 80%+ attendance, were failing. Students were not getting any exam support.

Illegal Terms on the Make-Up Exam
Block 02In a subsequent attempt at the make-up exam, the college put in place terms students say were illegal: students could not apply for revaluation, could not see their papers, and could not apply for rechecking.
CBSE vs. Aditya Bandopadhyay (2011): the Supreme Court ruled that students have the right to access photocopies of their answer sheets under the Right to Information Act.
Students Approach the Union
Block 03Students approached the student unions regarding these terms, after a large number of them failed and began seeking proper transparency and their right to know areas of improvement. The moment caught traction amongst students.
A Cry for Help
Block 04Union members received calls from a female student who was suicidal, because her severe medical condition, sustained post-accident, wasn't being considered in her attendance. The university refused to provide her with a counsellor, and she had to hire a private counsellor on her own.
Memo & a Partial Concession
Block 05The union members sent a memo to the college administration regarding these issues, and declared a protest in case things didn't get accepted. The college accepted the demand for revaluation, and decided to hold a meeting for individual cases.
Poor Guidance & Exam Discrepancies
Block 06Students reported receiving poor guidance from their faculty, wherein students were specifically told they wouldn't get a year down and there was no need to apply for the exam. But exactly that happened, and they received a year down.

Block 07
The Discussion That Was a Trap
Students, along with Union Representatives, reached the college for a discussion session. But all of it was a trap. The college gave timings of 12 to 1pm, yet students were kept out from the college until 12:45. Then news came that the management was going away to a different meeting and that cases wouldn't be solved. Students would have to face backlogs.

Block 08
Good News Confirmed
Union Representatives, along with their team of lawyers, karyakartas, and the student wing, were confirmed to come on campus the next day for a session, with a clear note: this was not to be a direct protest, but an open discussion with management and Rahul Karad.

Block 09
Denied Discussion, Instead Instigated
Students were denied the discussion they had been promised, and were instigated instead. Students and Union Representatives were denied access to the conference room, despite having a prior appointment.

Block 10
The Confrontation
Students started pushing themselves in, trying to get their place in the conference room to get their issues heard by the registrar. But there was a wall of security, a traffic warden working outside his jurisdiction, and police. In the mess, college security started pushing students back, going as far as pushing male students onto female students who were shouting.
One female student lost consciousness due to suffocation. She has given a statement against a security personnel, named Dakshin Murthy, to the police, accusing him of causing the ruckus.
The protest turned aggressive after this. Anyone trying to stop students from entering the campus was either pushed away or hit by the students' frustration.
A Partial Victory
Block 11All of this resulted in 50+ students passing. 50+ careers saved, which the college was going to ruin due to the illegal terms it had put in place for make-up exams against revaluation and rechecking.
The Fight Is Not Over Yet...!
Block 12There are still 500+ students who have faced a Year Down and are not getting justification for their results. Students were sent email Google Form links for revaluation that were not working. The form was deliberately kept unopened until the last moment, so that the majority of students would not apply for it. Or, it is even possible that many students were targeted and only they were sent a faulty, sabotaged form-filling process.
In any case, students who were not given a fair chance at form filling due to the ERP issue must be given their chance at revaluation, paper viewing, and receiving photocopies.
The Accusation Against the College
Block 13Right now, the college is not allowing marksheets to be revealed, which students say is illegal and against UGC norms and the Right to Information. There are students who have seen marks reduced from 15 to 1, and from 13 to direct fail, post-revaluation. Reductions they claim would be impossible, and which they believe show malicious intent.
Students allege the college is trying to fail as many students as possible because it has a financial incentive to do so: 800+ students would have to pay a new, updated fee, ₹20,000 more than what they would otherwise be paying per person. 20k × 800 goes above ₹1.6 crore.
Our Demands
Block 14- 01 The paper copies should be made public, as per student rights.
- 02 Students should get justification for marks, as the registrar has promised.
- 03 Students affected by the reval form not being active until the last moment, and most students who saw "Dynamic Link Not Working," should be given a chance for revaluation.
- 04 A Carry On option should be provided for pending subjects, instead of a full Year Down.
Or Else
Give us a new exam outright, along with the normal batch members in November, resulting in a sem back, and not a year down.
